CRANFORD - With coronavirus detections in neighboring Westfield and Garwood, Cranford officials are currently developing plans to close non-essential business in an effort to limit foot traffic.

Mayor Patrick Giblin, Township Committee, DMC, and the Office of Emergency Management hope to finish the plans by the end of the night.

Cranford businesses have already taken their own safety precautions. The Cranford Movie Theater has closed until further notice, and restaurants such as Kilkenny House and the Cranford Hotel are offering curb-side pickup. As of Monday, Track Five will only be available for takeout and will be going cashless to prevent the spread of germs on bills.
