Register Now for Summer Youth Courses Offered at Union County College

Union County College Credits: John Mooney

CRANFORD, NJ – The Office of Continuing Education at Union County College has expanded its course offerings for youth ages 11-18 this summer. Classes are taught by NJ-certified teachers and subject matter experts that specialize in delivering high-quality youth programs. Classes begin the week of June 26 and run through August 17.

Educational classes offered include Acting, Algebra Review, Better Thinker-Better Writer-Better Grades, Middle School Math Review and The Writer Within: Creative Writing.

The College is also partnering again with Black Rocket, Incrediflix and Super Science to offer classes such as Make Your 1st Video Game, Video Game Animation, Minecraft Animators, Virtual Reality, Minecraft Modders, Advanced Live Action Flix and Stop Motion Tricks and Effects, STEM Challenges, Junior Physicians and Chemical Wizardry.

Most classes are available for students ages 11-13 and 14 and above. New this year are partnerships with IMMA Photography and Wickline Casting who will offer Photography Art Camp and Introduction to Film and TV.

In order to accommodate students who are preparing to take the SAT exam on August 26, the college will be offering two sessions of SAT Test Preparation this summer. The first session will be held July 10 through August 3 and the second session will run from July 24 through August 17.  The SAT classes run Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. The cost of the courses vary, and all classes will be held at the College’s Cranford campus, located at 1033 Springfield Avenue.
