CRANFORD - Eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Cranford since Monday, August 31, the Township of Cranford announced on Wednesday. Currently, there are 10 active cases. 

All eight of the new cases are residents living in the community. None are from a long-term care facility. The eight new positives bring Cranford's total to 536 since the first reported case on March 17. With no new fatalities, the number remains at 96. Of the 96, 83 have been residents living in one of Cranford's long-term care facilities, while 13 have been residents living in the community.

To protect the private medical information of these individuals, Cranford will not be releasing additional information about these cases. Residents are asked to respect the impacted residents right to privacy based on the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
