CRANFORD - Mayor Patrick Giblin announced during his COVID-19 update on Monday that there were no new positive cases of COVID-19 or deaths related to the virus in Cranford reported on Monday.

Giblin's last update was this past Friday when he announced a significant one-day rise of 41 new positive cases reported, with a majority coming from long term care facilities. The Township of Cranford daily newsletter on Friday stated "(long term care) facilities have started to do mass testing of residents and those results are just being reported to the Township."

For Saturday and Sunday, Cranford officials were notified of 27 news positive cases and seven new fatalities in town. Of the 27 new cases, 19 were from long term care facilities and eight lived in the community. All seven fatalities were from long term care facilities.
