CRANFORD - On Monay morning, a letter from Hillside Avenue School Principal Dr. Curt Fogas was sent out to the community announcing his decision to retire.
Fogas has served as Principal at Hillside Avenue School for the past 20 years and his retirement will be effective September 9.
"Serving as Principal of Hillside Avenue School has been a great honor and a defining part of my life," said Fogas. "When I was appointed Principal in 1999, I had so many ideas and dreams for our students and school. I am very happy and proud that many of them have come true."
Fogas thank Cranford Superintendent Scott Rubin, the Cranford Board of Education, and the Hillside Avenue School families for the opportunity to work toward the success of each and every child at the school.
"It has been a pleasure partnering with you and all the past parents, teachers, and students that have made my tenure at HAS so wonderful," added Fogas. "I truly believe that we have gathered a group of talented and passionate teachers and staff that together make up this great school. I will cherish the many laughs shared and memories made with all of you over the years. In my heart, I will always feel a part of the HAS family."
Dr. Rubin and the Cranford Board of Education are committed to finding an exceptional leader to become the next Principal.
