Arrested: Alyssa Spiecker, 25, South Amboy

Arrested by: Ptl. Gregory Federici

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2002 Honda was stopped on South Avenue West and Washington Place for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Federici arrested a passenger, Alyssa Spiecker, for suspected heroin found in her possession. She was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, she was issued a motor vehicle summons for a seatbelt violation.

North Lehigh Avenue and Mansion Terrace

Arrested: Christopher Conner, 31, Atlantic Highlands

Arrested by: Ptl. Nelson Hearns

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: Police units were dispatched to the area of North Lehigh Avenue and Mansion Terrace for a reported suspicious vehicle. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Hearns arrested the driver, Christopher Connor, for possession of suspected crack cocaine. He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued a motor vehicle summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

North Avenue East

Arrested: Brian Merkel, 24, Cranford; Connor Scanlon, 19, Westfield; Kevin Reinhard, 19, Westfield

Arrested by: Ptl. Ali Muhammad

Charges: Disorderly Conduct; Exhibiting a False Government ID, Underage Consumption of Alcohol

Remarks: Police units responded outside of a North Avenue East business for a reported fight in progress. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Muhammad arrested Brian Merkel, Connor Scanlon and Kevin Reinhard for disorderly conduct. In addition, Scanlon was charged with exhibiting a false government ID to police and underage consumption of alcohol. Reinhard was also charged with underage consumption of alcohol. They were processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date.

Raritan Road and Lexington Avenue

Arrested: Jonathan Ginesi, 29, Clark

Arrested by: Ptl. Ryan Gerrity

Charges: Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: Police units stopped a suspicious male in the area of Raritan Road and Lexington Avenue. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gerrity arrested the male, Jonathan Ginesi, for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of suspected heroin. He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. He was remanded to the Essex County Jail after discovering he had an active arrest warrant for a robbery in Essex County.
