Arrested: Amilcar Monroy, 57, Scotch Plains

Arrested by: Ptl. Nicholas Cook

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: A 2013 Hyundai was stopped on Tulip Street and Orchard Street when police observed the vehicle parked in the roadway with the engine running and lights on. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Cook arrested the driver, Amilcar Monroy, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued a motor vehicle summons for refusal to submit to the taking of breath samples.

Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road

Arrested: Jade Baptiste, 24, Linden

Arrested by: Ptl. John Rattigan

Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2001 BMW was stopped on Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for a brake light out. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Rattigan arrested the driver, Jade Baptiste, for possession of suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued a motor vehicle summons for maintenance of lamps, failure to exhibit an insurance card, failure to inspect and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

North Avenue East and Carpenter Place

Arrested: Jose Arroyave-Ortiz, 23, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Matthew Siessel

Charges: Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs; Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2001 Ford was stopped on North Avenue East and Carpenter Place when the driver was observed using his cellular device. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Siessel arrested the driver, Jose Arroyave-Ortiz, for possession of suspected Xanax and marijuana found inside the vehicle. He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued a motor vehicle summons for using a cellular device while driving, failure to exhibit a driver’s license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
