Arrested: Chad Eichelberger, 28, South Amboy

Arrested by: Ptl. Ryan McSharry

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: Police units were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on South Avenue East and Lincoln Avenue East. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. McSharry arrested one of the drivers, Chad Eichelberger, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Eichelberger was issued motor vehicle summonses for refusal to the taking of breath samples, unregistered vehicle, no insurance, reckless driving, careless driving and delaying traffic.

North Avenue East and the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange

Arrested: Jeffrey Vasquez, 21, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Christopher Gross

Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2014 Mercedes-Benz was stopped on North Avenue East and the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for tinted windows. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Gross arrested the driver, Jeffrey Vasquez, for possession of suspected marijuana found on him. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Vasquez was issued motor vehicle summonses for suspended driving, tinted windows, no valid insurance card in his possession and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Centennial Avenue and Cayuga Road

Arrested: Daniel Francis, 40, Parlin Arrested by: Ptl. James Knight

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: A 2019 Hyundai was stopped on Centennial Avenue and Cayuga Road for delaying traffic. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Knight arrested the driver, Daniel Francis, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Francis was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, tinted windows, no valid registration or insurance card in his possession, delaying traffic and parking within 25 ft of a crosswalk.

Riverside Drive

Arrested: James Sowa, 27, Cranford

Arrested by: Ptl. Ali Muhammad

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: A 2015 Ford was stopped near Riverside Drive when an officer believed the vehicle to be suspicious. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Muhammad arrested the driver, James Sowa, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date.

Gallows Hill Road and Heathermeade Place

Arrested: Sean Leonard, 21, Scotch Plains

Arrested by: Ptl. Corey LoForte

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: Police units were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Gallows Hill Road and Heathermeade Place in which one of the vehicles fled the scene. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. LoForte located and arrested the driver, Sean Leonard, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Leonard was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, an unsafe lane change, leaving the scene of a crash and failure to report a crash.

Springfield Avenue and Pawnee Road

Arrested: Christian Glaser, 20, Union

Arrested by: Ptl. Timothy Handy

Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2000 Mitsubishi was stopped on Springfield Avenue and Pawnee Road for speeding. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Handy arrested the driver, Christian Glaser, for possession of suspected marijuana found on him. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Glaser was issued motor vehicle summonses for speeding and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
