Arrested: Scott Desch, 45, Westfield

Arrested by: Det. Steven D’Ambola

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: A 2010 Honda was stopped on Walnut Avenue for speeding. Following an investigation on scene, Det. D’Ambola arrested the driver, Scott Desch, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for speeding, careless driving, unclear plates, no valid registration in his possession and no valid insurance card in his possession.

South Avenue West

Arrested: Gloria Wallace, 51, Elizabeth; Tyrone Hood, 48, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Courtney Holder

Charges: Shoplifting; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: Police units were dispatched to a South Avenue West business on a report of a shoplifting. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Holder arrested two individuals, Gloria Wallace and Tyrone Hood, for shoplifting and for each possessing suspected crack pipes. They were processed and provided with Municipal Court appearance dates. Both Wallace and Hood had active arrest warrants out of Elizabeth.

Fairfield Avenue and Georgia Street

Arrested: Racquel Ford, 21, Avenel

Arrested by: Ptl. Christopher Folinusz

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs; Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2010 Kia was stopped on Fairfield Avenue and Georgia Street for tinted windows. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Folinusz arrested the driver, Racquel Ford, for suspected Psilocybin mushrooms, Dextroamphetamine, Clonazapa and marijuana found inside the vehicle. She was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. Ford was also issued motor vehicle summonses for tinted windows and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

South Avenue West and Washington Place

Arrested: Robert Roy, 40, Scotch Plains

Arrested by: Ptl. Christopher Folinusz

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated; Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2013 Infiniti was stopped on South Avenue West and Washington Place for unclear plates. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Folinusz arrested the driver, Robert Roy, for driving while intoxicated and possession of suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Roy was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates, tinted windows and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Bloomingdale Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue

Arrested: Elijah Martinez, 18, Cranford

Arrested by: Ptl. Nicholas Cook

Charges: Receiving Stolen Property; Criminal Mischief; Obstructing the Administration of Law; Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: A 2002 GMC was stopped on Bloomingdale Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue for unclear plates. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Cook arrested the driver, Elijah Martinez, for driving while intoxicated. It was later determined that the 2002 GMC was stolen from Cranford earlier that evening and had been involved in a motor vehicle crash. Martinez was also charged with receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and obstruction. He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates, driving an unregistered vehicle, maintenance of lamps, unlicensed driver, failure to exhibit a driver’s license, failure to exhibit a registration card, failure to exhibit an insurance card, no insurance, failure to inspect, careless driving, using a vehicle without owner’s consent, leaving the scene of a crash and failure to report a crash.

Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2006 Honda was stopped on North Avenue East and Carpenter Place for unclear plates. Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. Rattigan arrested the driver, Stephanie Moya, for possession of suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle. She was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Moya was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates, tinted windows, failure to exhibit an insurance card and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
