The Music Program at St. Michael Church, Cranford, presents its 2019 Concert “ADVENT and CHRISTMAS SERVICE OF LESSONS AND CAROLS” Sunday, December 15 at 4:00 p.m. at 40 Alden St. Cranford, NJ. The excellent acoustics of the magnificent church will ring with the organ and choirs of St. Michael and feature the brilliant sound of The Atlas Brass Quintet, a professional performing group.
The concert includes the parish Adult, Youth and Handbell Choirs and Vocal Soloists. The audience is invited to celebrate in singing familiar carols of the Advent and Christmas season along with organ, brass and choirs for this inspirational event.
The parish Youth Choir has grown and has maintained members to expand its program. The Handbell Choir of children and adults is one of the largest bell choirs in the Newark Archdiocese. The celebrated bell ringers perform several pieces.
Dr. David Bower, St. Michael Director of Music and Organist, indicates “We are fortunate to have the talent of the highly professional brass quintet to accompany our choirs, especially at this season when they are in great demand. Join us in singing the joyous carols of this Christmas season.”
St. Michael Pastor Monsignor Timothy Shugrue and Parochial Vicars Rev. Thomas P. Quinn and Rev. Sebastian Valencia Obando will lead the Advent biblical readings. A free will offering will support the music program. The church contact is 908-276-0360. The church is handicap accessible.
