CRANFORD - After finishing the 2018-19 season a game under .500, Cranford High School boys basketball is off to a 3-0 start. 

12/20 @ Old Tappan 

The Cougars opened up the season on the road with 60-54 victory over Old Tappan in which Arjun Petgrave led the way with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Dennis DeMarino and Zion Hammond also recorded double-digit points with 11 and 10, respectively. Liam Kwiatkowski pulled-down seven rebounds.

12/21 vs. Delaware Valley

Cranford was victorious in its home opener the next day with a 51-45 win over Delaware Valley. Joe Carrea was the Cougars high-scorer with 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Petgrave and Hammond each grabbed six rebounds. DeMarino added nine points. 

12/23 @ South Plainfield

Petgrave fell just short of a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and eight steals as Cranford defeated South Plainfield 42-36. Carrea scored a team-high 13 points and DeMarino finished with eight points and eight rebounds. Lukas Ruby snagged six rebounds. 

NEXT UP: The Cougars will travel to Kearny High School this Friday as they are participating in the Kearny Holiday Tournament. Cranford is tentatively scheduled to face Nutley at 12 p.m., and then will either play in the consolation or championship round on Saturday.
