CRANFORD - Congratulations to this week's Cranford High School Athletes of the Week, Colin Murray & Maggie O'Donnell.

Murray, as just a sophomore, leads the varsity wrestling team in wins, takedowns and team points this season, and is tied for the most pins. Last week against Governor Livingston, Murray battled to a 6-3 decision victory over reigning Union County 145-pound Champion, Harrison Kelly.

"Colin is putting together an impressive season," said Cranford wrestling head coach Pat Gorman. "He spent most of his off season on the mat putting in countless hours to improve and it shows. Mentally, he is as tough as they come. Mix in an incredible work habit and you have a recipe for success and that is what we are seeing this year."

O'Donnell, a senior on the girls varsity swim team, captured the Union County Championship title in the 200 freestyle this past weekend. She entered as the top seed, and won with a time of 1:55.26.

"Maggie is an intense athlete," said Cranford girls swimming head coach Barbara Kolesa. "She knows what she wants and works hard to get it. This is her second county title. Last year, Maggie was the county champion in the 100 yard butterfly. She currently has five Meet of Champion qualifying times. She holds the school record in the 200 freestyle, and broke her own 200 free record this past weekend. It's been a pleasure to watch and coach her."
