CRANFORD - The Cougars put together nearly 500 yards through the air and on the ground as they went on to defeat Immaculata, 31-8, on Friday night at Memorial Field.
Cranford raced out to a 24-0 lead until Immaculata finally got on the board in the third quarter. The Cougars' first play from scrimmage was an 80-yard touchdown pass from Connor Katz to Tom Korzeneski. Katz completed 8-of-10 passes for 179 yards and a TD. Kozeneski had two catches for 105 yards.
Katz also led Cranford's run game with 12 rushes for 118 yards and a TD. Marcus Johnson finished with seven carries for 116 yards and a TD. Michael Kalnins rushed a 20-yard TD.
On defense, Matt Coats had a team-high 12 tackles, Nate Caldwell had nine, and Jake Chapman had eight. Korzeneski grabbed an interception.
Cranford placekicker Diar Dautaga remained perfect on the season with a 31-yard field and was 4-for-4 on extra points.
With the win, Cranford head coach Erik Rosenmeier earned his 99th career victory and will go for number 100 next week on the road against Rahway (4-0).
