Daniel Island Community Association Annual Meeting

The Annual Daniel Island Community Association Meeting is an informational only meeting. There are no issues to vote on at the meeting. In advance of the meeting, the individual association boards approve association budgets. Per our governing documents, in order to hold our informational only annual meeting, we need to meet a 10% quorum. Should you be unable to attend your respective association’s meeting, we urge you to complete a proxy by clicking the link below as your proxy is needed as soon as possible. If you own properties in both DICA and DIPA please fill out both forms.

Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown

The 7th Annual “Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown” hosted by Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina will be a fully sanctioned national event with the Kansas City Barbeque Society. This State Championship will feature two days of barbeque competition within a large competitor and vendor village centered around The Lookout Pavilion. Public sampling of chicken wings and pork butts will be available for purchase, along with numerous options for food and refreshments. Enjoy live music performances and cooking demonstrations all within a family friendly, casual and fun atmosphere. Competition categories include Chicken Wings, Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork, and Beef Brisket. The chicken wings contest will be held on the evening of Friday, November 16th. Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork, and Beef Brisket, entries will be turned in Saturday, November 17th. Teams must compete in all of Saturday’s categories to be eligible for Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion Awards.

11th Annual Charleston Classic Men's College Basketball Tournament

The ESPN-owned event includes eight teams from top conferences, such as ACC, Big Ten and Big 12, all playing for a total of 12 games during a four-day weekend.  

The strongest field in tournament history will feature 5 returning NCAA Tournament teams in Purdue, Wichita State, Virginia Tech, Alabama, and Davidson. They will be joined by Appalachian State, Ball State, and Northeastern.

Mex 1 Sessions with Stop Light Observations

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina brings fans another installment of Mex 1 Sessions, this time with the local hit band Stop Light Observations. Guests will enjoy a live and unplugged show from the band in a small, intimate setting. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Carolina Studios, a local non-profit focused on providing Charleston students with safe, career-focused initiatives through music, technology, and media arts.
