DENVILLE, NJ – Morris Knolls varsity boys soccer recorded their first victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout against Chatham at home on Mon., Sept. 9.

Christian Cachique, Riley Van Orden and Gianangelo Dichio scored for the Golden Eagles. Dichio and Oliver Hinojosa earned assists.

Morris Knolls goalie Sean Boen had six saves. Chatham’s Peter Han had five.

Pleased with the team’s performance, Morris Knolls Head Coach Mike Mugavero noted, “3-0 is a good result. We defended well against a great team.”

“We finished our opportunities. They had more opportunities, but we finished ours,” he added.

“We still have a lot of work to do. We’re still coming together. Our style of play is coming together.”

The 1-1-1 Golden Eagles will face Mt. Lakes away on Fri., Sept. 13, at 4 p.m.
