County Chamber President Applauds Federal Ruling Approving PennEast Pipeline

Paul Boudreau, president of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, today issued the following statement about the ruling by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission that the PennEast pipeline can be built with little impact on the environment.

“Today’s finding by federal regulators that the PennEast underground natural gas pipeline is safe for the environment is an enormous victory for families and businesses across New Jersey and here in Morris County. The most affordable and abundant supply of natural gas on the continent is just over 100 miles from New Jersey in the Marcellus Formation in Pennsylvania, so directly accessing the field for the first time will power our state’s economy for decades to come and trigger investment and job growth. This is a local project benefitting every resident and business in New Jersey. Our organization looks forward to the FERC commissioner’s final approval of the project this summer. The Morris County Chamber of Commerce comprises leading pharmaceutical companies, other global manufacturers and small businesses. One of the things they have in common is the need to access a reliable supply of low-cost energy that keeps them competitive, growing and creating jobs in New Jersey.”

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote (Random House, 1965)

In Cold Blood is, quite simply, the grand-daddy of true crime writing, dubbed by Capote, himself, as the first non-fiction novel (although Norman Mailer argued the point when he published The Executioner's Song in 1979.) The conditions under which I read In Cold Blood for the first time were pretty weird, which was another ...
