DENVILLE, NJ-- Recently the Russo family suffered from a house fire that has deemed their residence uninhabitable. Denville residents have stepped up to help give the family support during this rough patch in their life.
On Friday Dec. 11, Thatcher McGhee's will play host to a fundraiser being held by Quarter Pound Jones. Quarter Pound Jones is a band that plays primarily at the Indian Lake Community Club throughout the year. The band will take the stage at 8:00 p.m., but the event opens at 7:00.
Quarter Pound Jones drummer, Phil Brojan, noted that many of the band members only know the Russo family through other friends or know that they just live in Indian Lake.
"That's what this community is about, we step up when one of our neighbors are in need," Brojan said
In addition to the music at Thatcher's, many local businesses have stepped up to donate door prizes. On site will be a place for cash donations as well as laptops available to donate to the online Go Fund Me site. The Russo family is rooted in Denville, Shari works as a guidance counselor at Morris Knolls High School, while her husband can usually be found coaching youth sports. The pair also have three young children.
“We just strongly believe in being an important part of the communities in which we do business. It’s part of our core values here at Thatcher McGhee’s”, said owners Aidan Downey and Brendan Madden. “We’re honored to have the opportunity to help the Russo family in this time of need, and hope to have a very successful fundraiser for them here on Friday.”
