DENVILLE, NJ-- The Denville Recreation Committee met on June 3 at Town Hall. Included in the discussions at the meeting was the success of the annual Rockaway River Cleanup. The combined number of tires pulled out of the river reached an astounding 200.
Also on the agenda was an update about the playground survey. The playground at Gardner Field is due for a facelift. The township is asking residents that use the playground to fill out a simple survey about the changes families would like to see made to the playground. The survey is online at the Denville Township page and can be accessed by clicking here.
Cook's Pond is also up and running for families to enjoy. This summer, the recreation committee introduced a photo ID badge system. All of the members of the recreation committee agreed that this is a great new security feature. The photo ID badge system will be able to be used in case of an emergency of a missing child or adult so a photo can be matched with a missing person.
Summer camps in Denville will be open for registration until June 5. The recreation committee also gave a date for the kids triathalon in Denville, set for August 8.
The next meeting of the recreation committee will take place on Aug. 5 at 7:30 in the community room at Town Hall.
