MORRISTOWN, NJ -- All residents and officials of Denville and Morris County's other 38 towns are invited to attend the Morris County Board of Freeholders special 2019 public county budget input meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 6:30 - 8 p.m. The special budget meeting will be held in the Knox Room on the 5th floor in the Morris County Administration and Records Building, 10 Court Street, Morristown, NJ 07960.
The session allows the county's residents, mayors and other public officials to have a say in the budget-making process, state concerns, make recommendations, and pose questions to the Budget Committee (comprised of Freeholders Heather Darling, Kathy DeFillippo and Deborah Smith) and its financial and senior staff.
“We want to ensure that mayors, other elected officials, and county residents have an opportunity to comment on budget issues, to provide insight into how we develop the budget, and our timeline for introduction,’’ said Deputy Freeholder Director Darling, who chairs the committee. “We invite interested officials and residents to attend,’’ she added.
Attendees should come prepared with comments, ideas and suggestions and are welcome to review key budget documents and financial information, including the 2015 through 2018 operating and capital budgets, posted at: https://morriscountynj.gov/transparency/finance/.
