DENVILLE, NJ-- The Denville Township Schools reorganized on Jan. 4. During the meeting, two board members were given their Oaths of Office from board secretary Damaris Gurowsky. 

Barbara DeLuna was re-elected in the Nov. election to another term on the board. Newly elected member Dave Luer is replacing Carlos Duarte on the board. This will be Luer's first time serving on the board. 

During the meeting, the board also nominated a new President and Vice President. Dino Cappello was chosen for President, while Michael Andersen will serve as Vice President. The meeting also allowed for members of the Board of Education to pick their liason chairs and committees they will serve on.

"I feel I've come a long way in just a year," Cappello said. "The job of a board president is a job that is molded to the strengths of the person in the president position. To me, being the board president is about being the facilitator." 

The board also approved all the items on their agenda, including who they will have as an attorney, school policies, and insurance providers. The first meeting of the Denville Township Board of Education for 2016 will be on Jan. 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Valleyview Middle School Library.
