DENVILLE, NJ--Denville's annual sale drew a big crowd as everyone searched for some of the best deals of the year.
The three day sale, hosted by the town’s chamber of commerce, brings together businesses around the Broadway area to offer great deals for residents. It might’ve been a hot weekend to go shopping outside but the price drops continued inside many of stores.
“I’ve been coming here almost every year and there’s always good deals on shoes and clothing,” Pat Berger said.
Some of the products up for sale included clothing, furniture, home décor, little gifts, painting, children’s toys and trinkets. While every store was offering cheap prices, the two shoe stores on Broadway seemed to attract the most attention.
Berger said she thought the best deals were on shoes, a statement that Danielle Lang would agree with.
“I come here almost every year and you can get some very nice shoes for a low prices,” Lang said. “I have three kids so shoes can get kind of pricey but these deals let me buy for all of them.”
The Shoe and Sneaker Barn’s setup reached far beyond the front of their store, where they were offering deals on everything from Uggs to Nike sneakers.
“We have this down to a science and it’s really a year long process,” manager Jamie Ciampaglio said. “We purposely put some shoes aside throughout the year to be featured at the sidewalk sale so we can best cater to our customers and offer shoes at these prices.”
Jay’s Shoe Box, a new store just down the street from the Shoe and Sneaker Barn, also offered deals on their products.
“Right now, all of these shoes are from our store in Livingston because we’re working on getting this new location in Denville ready for opening,” manager Sean Clayton said. “This sidewalk sale is a great way for us to introduce ourselves to the community.”
Even if a customer wasn’t looking for shoes, almost every retail store offered similar deals on their merchandise. Stores such as Lotus Boutique, Denim Daises, A&R Interiors, and California Beach Hut were just a few that featured outdoor booths.
Check with retailers on Broadway and the surrounding area to see if any deals are still being offered as the yearly sidewalk sale draws to a close.
