DENVILLE, NJ – Richard Yobs Sr. and Richard Yobs Jr. received Denville Challenge Coins and certificates of appreciation from Mayor Thomas Andes on Tuesday, Sept. 18, for their honorable military service to the country. The father and son duo each served four years in the military; Yobs Sr. in the United States Navy and Yobs Jr. in the United States Marine Corps.

Yobs Sr., a resident of Denville since 1954, is a former Denville Planning Board member and the owner of Painten Place, a paint and wall covering supplier located on East Main Street in Denville. Mayor Andes made the presentations at the Township of Denville Municipal Council meeting as part of the Veterans’ Recognition Ceremony, a standing feature of the mayor’s report to the council since Nov. 2017. Mayor Andes acknowledged that the Yobses were the first father son pair to be honored simultaneously.
