Every day The Center for Great Expectations serves 140 adult clients, 12 adolescent clients and their children/families providing superior trauma-informed, evidence-based care while respecting federal and state Covid-19 guidelines for health and safety. The Center for Great Expectations is a nonprofit organization providing transformational mental health and substance use disorder treatment to pregnant or parenting women, adolescents and their children, men and families impacted by trauma, abuse and neglect. The core of the CGE mission has been and continues to be focused on a safe place, a safe presence, and a safe path for clients during this exceptional time.
The trauma-informed programs and services offered at The Center for Great Expectations are needed now more than ever as clients with substance use and mental health disorders face the many challenges of these stressful times. Roots to Recovery, our outpatient center, S.T.A.R.T. our in-home program and our Supportive Housing program, serving families in our 28 apartments, continue to provide counseling and case management through a variety of electronic communications. Even during crisis The Center for Great Expectations continues to uplift those in need. Healing is not cancelled at The Center for Great Expectations.
Amidst the stress and uncertainty, The Center for Great Expectations has celebrated the birth of a little boy to an adolescent client, a client in the S.T.A.R.T. program gave birth to twins and a woman in the adult program was reunited with her child. These uplifting moments reinforce the importance of the programs and services provided by The Center for Great Expectations.
