The Hickory Tree Chorus (HTC) was proud to present its annual $1000 scholarship to Christina Freeman of West Morris Mendham High School and thrilled to welcome her to perform for our group.

Each year HTC awards a scholarship to a female high school senior with exceptional vocal talent who will pursue a degree in music.  Christina fit that bill with flying colors.  Recipient of the 2018 MAYO Theatre Performing Arts Student of the Month award, Christina has also had much success in honors ensembles, including West Morris Area Honor Choir (4 years), New Jersey All-State Treble and Mixed Choirs, Paper Mill Playhouse Show Chorus (Alternate Position), and, most recently, All-Eastern Regional Honor Choir.

Christina has also sung at multiple fundraisers, rotary clubs, nursing homes, and other community events with her school’s chamber choir (Ensemble Manager), acappella groups, jazz ensemble, and her own barbershop quartet “Perfect Fourths.” She has also held leading roles in school and community theatre dramas and musicals.
