DENVILLE, NJ -- Chatham sabre fencers Darren Yen and Marshall Hong each continued their unbeaten run in the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference to help the Cougars defeat Morris Knolls, 19-8, on Tuesday, Jan 15.
Round one score: Chatham 6, Morris Knolls 3 (Sabres 3-0, Foils 2-1, Epees 1-2)
The Cougar Sabres Darren Yen, Marshall Hong, and Preston Yen kicked off against Morris Knolls with a 3-0 sweep. Morris Knolls took the first foil bout. Foils, Nate Eck and Jacob Mahon added two wins. Morris Knolls took the first tied epee bout. Jonah Blanchard tipped the second tied bout and Morris Knolls got the third bout.
Round two score: Chatham 6, Morris Knolls 3 (Sabres 2-1, Foils 2-1, Epees 2-1)
Yen and Hong added two more wins. Morris Knolls A-Strip sabre Angelillo got the first win against the dominant Chatham sabres this season. Foils Zak Zeareban and Eck added 5-0 and 5-1 wins respectively. Ahmer Khan and Lucas Furda added to epee wins with each pushing a tie into a victory.

Round three score: Chatham 7, Morris Knolls 2 (Sabres 3-0, Foils 3-0, Epees 1-2) Final Score 19-8
Yen, Hong, and Yen shook off the single loss and secured the meet for the Chatham men with three sabre wins. Yen and Hong went undefeated for the night. Zeareban and Eck wrapped up the foil bouts with a 5-1 each, followed by Aidan Marrinan's 5-2 win. The Morris Knolls epees took two bouts and Vedant Kudalkar won the final tied bout of the night.
Chatham will face Morris Catholic away on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 4 p.m.
