RANDOLPH, NJ – The Morris Knolls girls varsity swim team defeated Randolph 94-76 on Jan 10 at the County College of Morris, winning all but one of the 11 events. Conversely, Morris Knolls suffered a defeat to Randolph 129-41, winning just one event.

Morris Knolls girls took first in all three relays. Caroline Weldon, Ella Discala, Bailey Rynkiewicz and Molly Somogyi swam to first in the 200-medley relay at 1:57.75. Discala, Somogyi, Madelyn Merrill and Katrina Vianello won the 200-freestyle relay at 1:50.04. Rynkiewicz, Weldon, Genna Pascucci and Vianello grabbed the 400-freestyle relay at 4:04.01.

Of the other seven events, Weldon finished on top in the 200 freestyle at 2:04.48 and the 100 backstroke at 1:01.42. Rynkiewicz touched the rim first in the 200-individual medley at 2:20.14 and the 100 butterfly at 1:01.38. Vianello won the 50 freestyle at 25.99 and the 100 freestyle at 1:02.66. Discala did likewise in the 100 breaststroke at 1:11.33.

For the Morris Knolls boys, Byan Henager swam to first in the 100 backstroke at 57.21.

The Golden Eagles will face Roxbury on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the County College of Morris in Randolph at 6 p.m.
