PARSIPPANY, NJ -- After a long and seemingly never ending wait, the brand new Chick-fil-A in Morris Plains, New Jersey, has finally opened. It is located on the edge of Route 10 East in the parking lot of Briarwood Commons.

It's a good thing there is a large parking lot adjacent to the restaurant as hundreds of people and cars stood in line, despite the less than ideal weather.

To celebrate the grand opening, Chick-fil-A scheduled a contest for the customers. The first 100 customers to show up would receive free Chick-fil-A meals for the rest of the year.

This contest awarded winners one free meal (sandwich, fries, and a drink) once a week for 52 weeks. Marc Baskin of Morris Township was one of the lucky winners. "I was here since 11 p.m. last night and am excited to be a winner. But I'm tired now and going home to sleep," he commented to TAPinto.

Hundreds of customers like Marc camped out over night in the pouring rain to increase their chances of winning the contest, even though the doors did not officially open until 7:30 a.m.

The newly built restaurant also has a drive-thru and a two-story children’s play area.
