Morris Hills Regional District Honors Retiring Teachers at Latest Board Meeting

DENVILLE, NJ-- The Morris Hills Regional District recently honored it's retiring teachers at their Board of Education meeting on June 13.

Leaving Morris Hills to move on to retirement are the following teachers:

-Louis Cantagallo, Custodian for 20 years

-Yvonne Hourihan, Guidance Counselor for 35 years

-Loren Katsakos, Business Teacher for 32 years

-Edward Koehler Jr, Custodian for 16 years

-Darlene Newberry, LDTC for 35 years

-William Nieman, Business Teacher for 35 years

-Michael Sopko, Music Teacher for 36 years

Among the staff and educators leaving Morris Knolls for retirement are:

-Daniel Benz, Business Teacher for 38 years

-Diane Dans, Special Education Staff Assistant for 24 years

-David DeNure, Physical Education Teacher for 16.7 years

-Roseann DePalo, Special Education Staff Assistant for 25 years

-Lucas Mendez, Custodian for 9 years

The regional district also took time out to honor bus drivers, technology specialists, and office staff who are also retiring. The Teacher and Ed Specialists of the year were honored as well. Morris Hills Regional Superintendent James Jencarelli penned the following.

"The end of the school year is the appropriate time to honor our staff. The Morris Hills Regional District has an outstanding teaching staff that deserves public recognition. Thank you for all you have done for our students and the district," Jencarelli said.

The Board will take the month of July off and will hold their next meeting on August 29 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board offices at Morris Knolls High School.
