MORRISTOWN, NJ – Morris Knolls ice hockey fell to Morristown-Beard, 3-1, on Thu Mar 4 in the Mennen Cup final at the Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown.
Morristown-Beard shut out Morris Knolls for the first two periods, with Jake DiLoreto eventually sailing the puck through the net for the Golden Eagles late in the third period, assisted by Jason Kwestel.
For Morristown-Beard, Roman Berger was the major contributor, netting a goal in the first period, assisted by Tristan Long, and getting another one early in the third, assisted by Henry Fernandez. Cam Fernandez ended the game with an empty net goal, assisted by Noah Jones and Berger.
Golden Eagles goalie Aidan Marvin had 23 saves. Luke McManus had 22 saves for Morristown-Beard.
The Golden Eagles end their regular season with six wins (Madison, Morristown (twice), Randolph (twice), Summit), six losses (Bergen-Catholic, Chatham, Morristown-Beard (thrice), Rumson-Fair Haven) and one tie (Randolph).
