ROCKAWAY, NJ – Morris Knolls girls volleyball experienced a back-to-back 2-0 victory at home against Morristown on Friday, Sept. 14. Noteworthy accomplishments included:

Stephanie Frank (senior) – six kills, 2.5 blocks, one ace

Brooke Herman (junior) – four kills, six digs, one ace

Skye Eppel (junior) – five aces, four digs

Michelle Slomkowski (senior) – 10 digs

Jackie Hyer (senior) –6 assists

Annie Nolan (sophomore) – three assists

The win against Morristown extends the Golden Eagles’ record to 5-1. Their next game is away at Pope John on Monday, Sept. 17, at 5:30 p.m.

Outdoors, the field hockey team remained undefeated with a 2-0 victory against Roxbury. Senior Allie Cibiniak and junior Mackenzie Furlong scored goals, each assisted by junior Emily Mitarotonda. Goalie junior Meghana Maddali made 22 saves. The team now holds a 4-0 record and will meet Mount Olive at home on Monday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m.

On the tennis courts, the Golden Eagles faced Mount Olive and won all their matches. The players defeated their opponents as follows:

1st Singles: Sophomore Lily (Nofar) Katzav (won by forfeiture due to injury)

2nd Singles: Senior Gabi Parroco (6-2, 6-0, 0-0)

3rd Singles: Junior Skylar Walder (6-0, 6-0, 0-0)

1st Doubles: Junior Isabel Jones and freshman Shaine Galon (6-0, 6-3, 0-0)

2nd Doubles: Senior Renee Monaco and junior Erica Knapp (6-1, 6-0, 0-0)

With an even record of 1-1, the tennis team will travel to Roxbury on Tuesday, Sept. 18, and commence play at 4 p.m.
