DENVILLE, NJ – The Morris Knolls boys basketball team notched a victory, and the wrestling team came in fourth place in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) District 5 tournament, with Jack Wemmlinger earning an individual championship in his weight class over the weekend.

The Morris Knolls boys basketball team defeated Morris Catholic, 58-51, at home on Fri., Feb. 21. Patrick Sinegra scored the game's high with 16 points in the comeback victory. The 4-17 Golden Eagles will host Pequannock (7-15) on Mon., Feb. 24, at 7 p.m.

Morris Knolls’s Jack Wemmlinger qualified for the regional tournament when he clenched a championship in the 132-pound weight class of the NJSIAA District 5 wrestling tournament on Sat., Feb. 22, at West Essex High School. Wemmlinger won by a 7-1 decision over Louden Mazzeo of Emerson Boro. Joey Dellmonachie and Ronan Buckingham took second overall in the 152-pound and 195-pound weight classes, respectively. Morris Knolls finished with 121 team points, placing fourth behind Mount Olive (198.5 points), West Essex (182 points) and Emerson Boro (125 points).
