DENVILLE, NJ – The Morris Knolls field hockey team earned a victory at home over the weekend while football and boys soccer fell to their opponents. Girls soccer played to a draw.
Field hockey notched their third win of the season in a 3-0 outing against Pope John on Fri., Oct. 23. After going scoreless in the first quarter, the Lady Eagles scored a goal in each of the remaining three. Stephanie Crossan netted two goals, and Marina Milelli made one. Gabriella Masker, Claudia Ahuatzin and Rachel Grimaldi contributed one assist apiece. Morris Knolls goalie Margaret Jancerek had 7 saves. The Golden Eagles (3-3-1) next face Roxbury (4-1-1) on the road, Wed., Oct. 28, at 4 p.m.
The football team suffered a 28-0 shutout on the road against undefeated West Morris Central on Fri., Oct. 23. Morris Knolls (2-2) will host Randolph (3-0) on Sat., Oct. 31, at 1 p.m.
Roxbury outperformed Morris Knolls boys soccer, 3-1, on Sat., Oct. 24, in Denville. Bobby Egner scored the only goal for Morris Knolls. Goalie Sean Boen had 12 saves. The Golden Eagles (3-3-1) will host Mount Olive (3-2-3), on Tue., Oct. 27, at 4 p.m.
Morris Knolls girls soccer tied Roxbury, 1-1, on the road on Sat., Oct. 24. Mylie McDonough scored for Morris Knolls, assisted by Scarlett Brookes. Megan Brady had eight saves. The Lady Eagles (5-1-2) will travel to Mount Olive (4-2-2) on Tue, Oct. 27, for a 4 p.m. game start.
