Representatives from Qdoba Mexican Eats of Rockaway, Atlantic Health System, Cuts For You, Caring Transitions of Rockaway, Homewood Suites, Miracle Ear, and local leaders have joined forces in an effort to establish a Rockaway Area Chamber of Commerce to serve Rockaway Township, Rockaway Borough, Dover, Wharton, and other nearby municipalities.
The group’s focus will be to foster a strong local economy and business expansion, sponsor networking and community events, and enhance communication between area residents, businesses, non-profit organizations, civic groups, and governing bodies.
Greg Merkle, Operations Manager for Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion in Rockaway Township, said that the new chamber will help increase awareness of the community-based services Atlantic Health System offers.
“Like the Chamber, Atlantic Health System puts community first. We are dedicated to building healthier communities, which is why we developed the Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion. The building gives our neighbors in Rockaway and the surrounding area a one-stop-shop for many medical needs, without having to travel far,” Merkle said.
Diane Vezzuto, owner of Rockaway Township’s Caring Transitions which specializes in helping senior citizens relocate or downsize, said that the establishment of the Rockaway Area Chamber of Commerce will help her network with other small business owners and prospective clients in the area.
“As a small business owner in Rockaway, working from home, I'm excited about the prospect of establishing a Rockaway Area Chamber of Commerce. I believe it will be beneficial to local businesses as well as our community,” Vezzuto stated.
“Caring Transitions of Rockaway, NJ always looks for ways to provide service to Rockaway and our neighbors in surrounding communities. An active Chamber of Commerce with other established businesses will be a perfect way to do help each other grow and work in Rockaway,” she added.
Those interested in learning more about the Rockaway Area Chamber of Commerce are invited to the group’s next meeting, which will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, September 22nd, at the Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion at 333 Mt. Hope Avenue in Rockaway Township.
