Randolph Office Complex Housed a Pot Factory, say Police

RANDOLPH, NJ – A building in an office complex on Route 10 was being used to grow marijuana police said today, announcing the arrest of eight people they said were involved in the operation.

Authorities said they seized about 266 marijuana plants as well as marijuana “ready for packaging and distribution,” when they raided the facility on Wednesday. They said the confiscated pot has a street value of more than $1 million.

Authorities said they also seized about $4,000 in cash and several vehicles.

“During November 2017, members of the Randolph Township Police Department’s Detective Bureau obtained information about a potential marijuana grow facility located in an office complex on Route 10 in Randolph Township,” said the statement. “After an initial investigation by Randolph Police detectives, a joint investigation was initiated between the Randolph Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Special Enforcement Unit/Narcotics Task Force.”

The statement, released by the prosecutor’s office, noted that Randolph Police Detective Matt Pfeiffer was the lead detective in charge of the probe. Authorities did not reveal the address of the building where the raid took place.

Arrested in connection with the matter, according to authorities, were:

  • Juan Addison, 46, of Hillside
  • Mario Ramos, 51, of Glendale, CA
  • Lila Wroblewski, 20, of Jersey City
  • Niazja Rios, 28, of Bronx, NY
  • Cecilia Payne, 28, of Bronx, NY
  • Makeda Price, 26, of Bronx, NY
  • Karolina Gajdek, 23, of Bronx, NY
  • Rafaelito Ortiz, 37, of Brooklyn, NY

All face charges of first-degree maintaining and/or operating a marijuana production facility, first-degree possession of marijuana and fourth degree possession of marijuana, said authorities.
