MORRISTOWN, NJ -- Tajinder Tung has been arrested and charged with stalking and harassing a student, announced Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker and Mount Olive Police Chief Stephen Beecher.

An investigation revealed that Tung, a teacher at Mount Olive High School, had stalked a student and committed acts that constituted a course of alarming conduct, both inside and outside of school, said officials. The offensive behavior occurred between 2017 and May 2019, said police. Tung was charged with stalking, violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12- 10b, a fourth-degree crime; and harassment, violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:33-4c, a petty disorderly persons offense.

According to authorities, Tung will be remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing in the Superior Court.

The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
