DENVILLE, NJ – More than four thousand people came out to enjoy the food and festivities at the third annual Food Truck & Family Festival in Denville on Oct. 7.
"[On Sunday] a great community came together to put on another fun event for a good cause. A perfect example of why my husband and I are so proud to call Denvillle our home," remarked Laura Wagner, co-chair of the Vamp Up Vets Field Committee.
Proceeds from the event will help support the $100,000 Vamp Up Vet Field project. Veterans Memorial Field is the only turf field in Denville and is used for football, cheerleading, rugby, lacrosse and soccer. Funds are needed to install ADA-compliant bleachers, a press box, a scoreboard and a sound system.
When asked what brought him to the gathering, “I’m here because of my granddaughters,” commented Dave Martin, a Denville resident for 41 years who lives within walking distance of Gardner Field, the event venue. “It looked interesting and is something fun to do on a Sunday. Plus, I wanted to support the town.”
By the looks of the large turnout, others shared Martin’s sentiments.
