DENVILLE, NJ-- The Denville Town Council held a workshop session on Jan. 12 for the purpose of filling three vacancies on the Zoning Board.
The Zoning Board took a hit this year when three members stepped down, leaving vacancies to fill. John Murphy, a former member of the Zoning Board, who was recently elected to the Town Council was asking tough questions to each candidate.
The council interviewed Dan Roman and Dan Napolitano. Roman and Napolitano come from different backgrounds but both want what is best for the town. Roman is currently employed with Colgate-Palmolive and Napolitano is a lifelong Denville resident and veteran.
After interviewing each candidate, the town council decided that Napolitano would serve as a regular member of the zoning board, while Roman is the first alternate. Both were given their Oaths of Office during the meeting and will begin their new positions on Jan. 20 when the Zoning Board convenes. The council then went into executive session to discuss pending litigation.
The zoning board still has one more spot open and they are actively looking to find someone interested. Resumes can be sent to the Township Clerk. The next scheduled meeting for the Denville Township Council is on Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
