DENVILLE, NJ – Two individuals at Lakeview Elementary School in Denville have tested positive for COVID-19, announced Superintendent Steven Forte in a letter to parents and guardians on Mon., Oct. 19.

“Due to the timing of the positive tests, the Department of Health does not consider this an in-school exposure,” the letter stated. Families with children who may have been exposed outside of school will be contacted by the Department of Health, according to the letter.

Erring on the side of caution, the two classrooms potentially impacted will be closed for in-person instruction and will be switched to virtual instruction from Oct. 20-30. Parents of students in the affected classrooms received a separate letter letting them know that their child’s instruction status had changed. If parents did not receive the additional letter, then their child’s classroom was unaffected.
