The United States Fistball Association is looking for young men and women under the age of 18 who are interested in competing as part of the U.S. National Team, said U.S. Fistball Association President Bob Feid.
With fistball's similarity to volleyball, athletes experienced in volleyball are well-suited and able to learn the technique and rules very quickly. However, anyone under 18 interested in participating is welcome.
Tryouts are being held at the Roxbury High School gym, 1 Bryant Dr, Succasunna, with indoor practices continuing until spring when they move outdoor to the Swim and Sport Club on Emmans Road, also in Roxbury.
Anyone interested should email Feid at firstname.lastname@example.org for the full tryout and practice schedule.
Working with Roxbury Township, the United States Fistball Association is hosting the U18 Fistball World Championships in Roxbury. The 5-day tournament, at Horseshoe Lake Park in Succasunna, will feature national teams from Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Germany, India, Italy and Switzerland.
"Roxbury is excited to be selected as the first United States community to host the U18 World Fistball Championship," said Roxbury Township Manager John Shepherd.
