MOUNT OLIVE, NJ – Morris Knolls senior Shane Beston punched his ticket to the 2017 NJSIAA Individual Wrestling Championship tournament with a Top 4 finish in Saturday’s Region 2 tournament.

The Mustang 285-pounder finished second to Montville’s Parker Fox after falling in the title bout by a 5-0 decision.

Beston clinched his Top 2 finish and a spot in the Atlantic City early on Saturday when he defeated John F. Kennedy High School’s Will Lyde (Paterson) in the tournament semifinals.

Seeding for the state championship tournament is scheduled to take place on Monday.

The NJSIAA Individual Wrestling State Championship begins on Friday afternoon at Boardwalk Hall and culminates in state title bouts on Sunday afternoon.
