Youth Protection Symposium to Provide Information Every Youth Organization Needs to Know

CEDAR KNOLLS, NJ, March 29, 2016 – The Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council announced today that it will host a Youth Protection Symposium, scheduled for April 29th, featuring Victor Vieth, a recognized national authority on youth protection, who currently is executive director emeritus of Gunderson National Child Protection Training Center.

Victor Vieth has trained thousands of child-protection professionals, and was named to the President’s Honor Roll of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children. He has also been instrumental in implementing 22 state and international Forensic Interview training programs and dozens of undergraduate programs on child maltreatment. Mr. Vieth’s presentation will cover:

In Search of the Bottom Line: What every Youth-Serving Organization (YSO) Should Know: covering ten critical things every YSO should know about sex offenders and other child abusers. He will provide concrete policies and other reforms every YSO should implement immediately.

Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Research: providing key insights into to the most recent ACE research and its importance to youth serving organizations.

Resiliency: explaining what causes a child to be resilient, and what youth serving organizations can do to assist children in overcoming abuse and neglect.

Maria A. Ingraffia, Task Force Officer, Newark FBI Crimes Against Children Task Force will address issues relating to New Jersey.

All employees and volunteers of youth serving organizations, as well as legal counsel advising those organizations, are strongly encouraged to attend this important symposium, which qualifies for continuing education units, including: 3 CLE units, 4 elective EMT units, Professional Development certificates (endorsed by the NJEA Professional Development Institute) and ASWB (units pending.)

The Symposium will be held at Patriots’ Path Council, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ. From 8:00am-1:00pm and includes complimentary breakfast. Rutgers Hikes Tuition, Student Fees for 2018-2019 Academic Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The increase now brings the annual cost for undergraduate students to $14,975, which is $337 more than this past school year.
