Ferlanda Nixon is a leadership and organizational development consultant with extensive experience in the areas of communications, diversity and inclusion, general business strategy, and administration. She has more than 10 years’ experience as a public relations specialist in higher education and has served as an adjunct professor of ethics and leadership. 

Earlier in her career, Ms. Nixon practiced corporate law for 18 years – five years at a law firm in New York City, and 13 years at a finance company in Livingston, New Jersey. Her past community work includes executive director of the Hope Chest Scholarship Foundation in Morristown, New Jersey, and executive director of the Community Development Corporation of Northern New Jersey, also in Morristown.

A graduate of S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Ms. Nixon received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, where she served as an editor of The Tax Lawyer, the official publication of the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation.    

The mother of three grown children, Ms. Nixon resides with her husband in Denville, New Jersey.
