NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The TAPinto 2020 Highest Honor Award was presented to Steve Lenox of TAPinto Hoboken, TAPinto Jersey City, TAPinto Paterson, TAPinto Bayonne and TAPinto Hamilton/Robinson.
Lenox started his first TAPinto franchise in Paterson in 2017, and he hasn’t slowed down since.
In April 2020, Lenox launched two new sites during the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic in Jersey City and Hoboken, New Jersey. His team’s work to educate two of the state’s most densely populated regions is a case study on how to launch a media brand.
“Steve Lenox and his team are the poster-children for what we want in a TAPinto franchise,” TAPinto CEO Michael Shapiro said. "Steve has built five extremely successful sites across all different demographics and cultures. Their commitment to providing news to underserved areas makes Steve and his team extremely special."
One of the characteristics that makes Steve’s franchises successful is his willingness to look for new and innovative ways to engage audiences.
“A successful business is based on positive relationships,” Lenox said. “Throughout my career, including long before I was a part of the TAPinto network, I worked to build these sorts of relationships through honesty, consistency, and reliability. That is most important within TAPinto as it relates to the relationships I, and the sites I own, are building with our readers. Neither this recognition, nor the readership levels we have achieved, would have been possible without the consistent support, and good reporting, from a team of very professional writers I am lucky to have around me.”
Lenox has built his franchises into strong community players, which has specifically helped make TAPinto Paterson one of TAPinto’s top performing franchises.
“My favorite aspect is, without a doubt, the ability it affords me to serve the community,” Lenox said. “It is more important than ever that our readers are informed, and that can only happen when media outlets deliver, consistent, reliable, and honest news. That is what TAPinto does.”
With 2020 in the books, Lenox and his team are focused on continued growth in 2021, including lofty readership goals.
“Already with more than three million page views in 2020 I look forward to continuing to attract new readers by providing the kind of consistent news about their communities that they need and desire,” Lenox said. “Collaboration with other franchisees, and where possible, other organizations, will continue to grow in 2021, making the news we are able to deliver even more robust. I also have no doubt that 2021 will provide unprecedented opportunities to work with a variety of partners to help them reach our expanding, and engaged, readership while also driving additional revenue.”
