Dave Murphy to Headline at Acoustic Open Mic/Songwriter Showcase

Causal singer-songwriter gathering focusing on original music takes place every 3rd Thursday of the month year-round.  Come out to share a few of your own songs or just to listen to some great original music!!

Open Mic sign-ups start at 6:30 pm with music kicking off at 7pm - all levels welcomed.

At 8pm the feature singer-songwriter, Dave Murphy, will play a shortened set of his original tunes. On his appropriately titled "American Landscape" album, Dave Murphy is both a lonesome-voiced Troubadour who sings like a heart newly bruised by distance and longing and an astute observer and chronicler of the American condition. He narrates his tales with wit and brevity.

This monthly Acoustic Open Mic & Songwriter Showcase offers beginning songwriters and seasoned performers a supportive venue to learn from their peers about refining their craft and getting heard in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

  • Connect with other local singer-songwriters
  • Try out your new song or brush off one that you haven’t played out for a while
  • Get some live performance experience in front of an attentive and appreciative audience
  • Enjoy a good meal and listen to a variety of new and unique original songs

$5 cover with food and beverages available for purchase during the performances.

Hosted by Skylands Songwriters Guild, a Ledgewood, NJ based recognized 501(c)(3) educational non-profit songwriter organization dedicated to cultivating the Singer-Songwriter community of Northwest New Jersey and surrounding region. Donations are tax deductible.
