DENVILLE, NJ -- After hosting a virtual talent show for the students of Valleyview Middle School, Denville Radio's DJ LeFave plans to host “Cinco de Mayo Virtual Dance Party” on May 5, 7-10 p.m. He will be broadcasting dance music at, allowing hundreds of people to participate in the event and enjoy the Mexican celebration while practicing social distancing. The broadcast will include a live chat, which viewers can access via a free account. Listeners and party goers can submit song requests by going to

There also is an incentive to purchase food from local Denville restaurant, Chico’s Mexican Grill, located at 559 East Main Street, featuring family packs and combos of margarita kits, tacos, chips and salsa, rice and beans, grilled chicken and skirt steak, all available for pick-up or delivery. Those who order from Chico’s will receive an invitation to an exclusive “Chico de Mayo Virtual Social Party Room,” hosted on a secure Zoom session moderated by Denville Radio. The thought is that a person with two devices can play the music on one and socialize on the other, just as if he or she were in fact partying at Chico’s.

“This is definitely a new experience that we all find ourselves in,” said DJ LeFave. “I have been toying with this technology for about a year but have really given it a ton of focus over the past month. Two weeks ago, I did DJ an international virtual dance party over Zoom with another DJ in Canada. One of the lessons learned from this event is that although the music sounded great, there wasn’t a real opportunity for the guests to mingle with one another, which is such a big part of the ‘club/bar’ social experience. My hope is that by blending these two technologies, we’ll maybe be able to capture that familiar experience once again.”

During the preparations and the night of fun, Denville Radio listeners can continue to support the Denville Strong campaign by purchasing Denville Radio merchandise through Class Act Embroidery. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the purchase of Denville Strong t-shirts will be donated to the campaign, which helps to support health care worker and first responders.

DJ LeFave cannot wait for the party to begin.

“Any chance I have to be able to give something back is a good day,” said DJ LeFave.

“I hope that something like this can help create a much-needed distraction, similar to how the Valleyview Open Mic Night provided some great entertainment and helped support a great cause. There was such tremendous feedback from that event that Denville Radio is hosting another variety show in support of the Denville Strong campaign. This is open to any and all acts and more details can be found here:”

The Peer Home Selling Team, from Mountain Lakes, also is a sponsor of the virtual dance party.
