TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy announced the latest New Jersey COVID-19 figures on Sun May 2.

There were 1,048 new PCR cases reported and 238 antigen tests, with 19 new deaths. Cumulatively, there are now 875,277 positive PCR cases, 124,733 positive antigen cases, and 22,975 deaths, and 2,625 probable COVID-19 fatalities. 

Bergen County leads the state with the most cumulative positive cases with 88,210 followed by Essex (84,044), Middlesex (83,876), Hudson (77,973), and Monmouth (66,528).

Middlesex County has the most new cases with 130, followed by Hudson (99), Essex (98), Monmouth (82), and Gloucester (65).

As of 10 p.m., Sat May 1, there were 1,474 people hospitalized, 325 patients in ICU and 226 on ventilators.

According to the State of New Jersey COVID-19 dashboard, on Apr 26 2021, New Jersey implemented an automated method to remove duplicate case reports, leading to a one-time drop of 10,442 confirmed cases from the total confirmed cumulative COVID-19 cases.
