DENVILLE, NJ – Students in Valleyview Middle School’s ExPO program will present the fifth annual International Night on Thursday, March 28, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Foundation of Denville, the event will be held in the school's gymnasium and cafeteria.
In a statement issued by Marla Jaffe, Valleyview’s ExPO teacher for the last five years, people are invited to “come sample the fare, experience the culture, try your luck at some native games, win some prizes, and learn about the colorful history of 25 countries across the globe.”
“Italy, France, Guatemala, Colombia, Lebanon, Turkey, and Brazil are only some of the stops on this fun and educational tour,” the statement continues, “so pack your bags, grab your passport, and come enjoy this international showcase.”
ExPO, an acronym for Expanded Program Opportunities, is the gifted and talented program for the Denville Township School District. The program provides intensive and sustained support to students who demonstrate higher levels of ability than their peers in one or more content areas, who would benefit from challenges above and beyond their grade-level standards and expectations. This year, Valleyview has 67 ExPO students.
International Night is free and open to the public.
Valleyview Middle School is located at 320 Diamond Spring Road in Denville.
