MORRISTOWN, NJ -- Very shortly, residents all over Morris County will be receiving vote-by-mail ballots if they are registered voters for a specific political party such as Republican or Democrat. Registered voters that are not affiliated with a party, will be receiving a vote-by-mail application, which means they will have to fill out the form requesting a Republican or Democrat ballot.
There will be one polling location available in each town, but if voters go there to vote, they will not be casting ballots inside the machine marking off Xs next to their candidates of choice. They will be required to fill out manually a provisional ballot.
All voters have until 8 p.m. on Election Day, July 7, 2020, to return their ballots. They can do so via the United States Postal Service mail, postage pre-paid, or by depositing it in one of five drop-off boxes throughout the county. The drop off boxes will be located in Morristown, Madison, Rockaway Borough, Mt. Olive and Montville. Voters also can choose to drop off the ballots in person at the Board of Elections office at 10 Court Street in Morristown. All ballots must be received or postmarked by 8 p.m. on July 7, 2020.
