PARSIPPANY, NJ -- The Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA) has announced that a hazardous household waste drop off event will be held on June 13.

The utility announced the cancelation of the May 16 date due to the coronavirus.

"The event is being cancelled out of an abundance of caution to protect the health of county residents and MUA staff, while adhering to state and federal social distancing and gathering guidelines," said the MUA.

The new drop off event will take place at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy at 500 West Hanover Avenue in Parsippany.

“While we have come to know how important events such as these are to the public, we believe this decision is in everyone’s best interest in order to take the necessary precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. I hope you will all join me at our next disposal event in June,” said MUA Executive Director Larry Gindoff.

There will be two events for the fall; Sat Sept 12, at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy, and Sat Oct 10, at Chatham High School at 255 Lafayette Avenue in Chatham Township.
