ROXBURY, NJ – The 2020 version of the annual Lake Hopatcong Block Party at Hopatcong State Park in Landing will take place on a weekend in October that will also feature the annual Lake Loop run/paddle/bike event.

The Block Party was supposed to take place May 9 but was canceled in March due to the COVID-19 outbreak. At the time, the non-profit Lake Hopatcong Foundation LHF), the sponsor of the event, left open the possibility of rescheduling it for the autumn.

The LHF recently announced that, unless the virus situation fails to subside or resurfaces, the Block Party will take place Oct. 10.

"This new date falls on the same weekend as our annual Lake Loop, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, creating an exciting weekend with multiple ways to bring the community together to enjoy and support New Jersey's Largest lake," said the LHF. "Stay tuned for more information."

Lake Loop, which also takes place at Hopatcong State Park, is an annual bike, run and paddle challenge. People can choose to do any or all three events including a 20- or 40-mile bike route on roads around the lake, a 5K or 1.5-mile run/walk through the park and a 2.5-mile paddling course on Lake Hopatcong.
